(Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, 1974)
Ernest Perera combines his studies of sculpture in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona with those of Industrial Design in ELISAVA (University School of Design and Engineering) of the same city.
He founded his own studio in 1999, where he designed products and experiences to help companies become more competitive, from unique pieces to highly serialized elements. His works are characterized by providing renewed concepts in each project, bringing specific solutions for each case. In 2006, he created "Amor de Madre", his own company for home products, which allows him to develop his freedom of creation and experimentation on various household products. Since 1998 he has been teaching at several design universities in Barcelona. He is currently the Head of Product Design at LCI Barcelona School.
He has collaborated with companies such as Camper, Lékué, Delica, Mago Urban, ALMA LIGHT - where he developed, together with Josep Novell, the collections BLOW, FLAT, MOON, ORB, PILL and SQUARE--, Barcelona Picasso Museum, Rumitag, Artesanía de Cataluña or the ADI-FAD. He has received several awards, such as a selection at the DELTA Design Awards ADI-FAD, Barcelona (2009) and the first prize at the international competition Les Découvertes, Maison Objet, Paris (2008).
His creations have been exhibited in galleries around the world and have been selected for various publications on international design.
